Put in facts about a local connection
Letter to Editor Printed in the New Hampshire Union Leader
" The weapon that was used against Ali was a .22 caliber rifle, called a “sniper” rifle. This gun was likely manufactured in Newport, N.H., at the Sturm, Ruger Arms plant there. Other young Palestinians have also been killed by the “sniper” rifle while others have suffered serious injuries. "
While the corporate headquarters is in Fairfield, CT the biggest Ruger factory is in Newport, New Hampshire
Remind people of Ruger's own "ethics" claims
"Ruger claims to abide by a strict code of corporate responsibility:
Ruger has been a model of corporate and community responsibility. Our motto, “Arms Makers for Responsible Citizens®,” echoes our commitment to these principles. . . the Company will continue to be run in a highly ethical manner, which best serves the interests of our shareholders, our employees, and of course, our loyal customers.
Perhaps they should hear from people who wonder whether supplying lethal murder weapons for use against unarmed protesters – to guard stolen land and maintain an illegal occupation – is an example of corporate responsibility"
Mention an effort to appeal to the company
Printed in the New Haven Register in 2018
" On March 31 — a day after Israeli forces shot 758 people — I again wrote to Killoy. I asked him if his rifles were being used for “crowd control” and firing at “leaders” of demonstrations as “The Firearm Blog” maintained. I pointed out that if this was true, Ruger might be in legal jeopardy for violating international law. I didn’t get an answer. "
Your whole letter could be just a few sentences
I'm sick of seeing Palestinians maimed by Ruger rifles whose company headquarters is in Fairfield, CT. Rugers are sold to Israel whose army blatantly uses them for what they call "crowd control". In reality they use them to shoot leaders during demonstrations. Political leaders stop these Ruger sales.
